The power of Open Source

We at Tribal Shout are huge fans of open source. We've run linux servers at home for more than a decade. In previous endeavors we've contributed kernel drivers, helped find bugs in applications and provided tips for addressing sticky issues. There is no substitute for being able to try, test, read the code, debug and improve - all in a community of like-minded people.

Tribal Shout make great use of open source and we've made contributions to the state of the art. Dokubook w/ Discussion - A DokuWiki template based on Dokubook

Wiki's are great. We use DokuWiki for our engineering documentation and sharing of infomration. It's a powerful implementation. We use the Dokubook template which gives the wiki a wikipedia sort of feel. We added to the Dokubook template "discussion" and "article" tabs. Also, we modified the sidebar to read from a file in DokuWiki format. It's convenient for adding special links or other information that shows up on all page.
